A Player is many things to many people, including being an inspiration to bachelors and a scourge to old-fashioned romantics. However, one of the most enduring qualities of a successful Player is his ability to admit defeat and take rejection like a man. Knowing how to bounce back after a rejection or a bad date is just as important as the pickup itself. And while deep down we’re all human and emotions can run deep, there are remedies to ditch the self-pity and rebound back to your normal seductive self. Let’s find out how to bounce back as a Player and keep the hot streak going.
Learn from your mistakesIt’s a natural reaction for a recently rejected guy to ask where things went wrong. Often times, they were so ignorant of their own game that they completely didn’t see the red flags laid out in front of them.
Learn from your mistakes and go back to the basics. You have to remind yourself that women gives subtle clues to help (or hinder) your game. If she can’t make eye contact or dodges conversation, cut your losses before they happen. Make sure those green-light signals are present before proceeding any further. Even more so, don’t lick your wounds for too long -- otherwise you’re just going to lose your momentum and fall back into old habits.
Reevaluate your strategyOnce you’ve gone through your normal pickup routine a few times, your approach becomes clockwork. So, what happens when your hot streak comes to an end? If you want to know how to bounce back, it’s time to reevaluate your strategy.
Success often leads to complacency, and that applies to Players too. Meeting women isn’t a science; it’s an art you constantly must adapt to, so try polishing your techniques. You don’t have to revamp yourself from scratch, but make changes to things like your level of assertiveness, listening skills and personal style. It’s like taking your car in for a tune-up -- make the right adjustments and your approach will always run smoothly.
Hit up an old hookupAfter suffering a disheartening rejection, it’s natural to feel frustrated. You’re not sure what went wrong, but your confidence is shaken and you need a quick fix. This is the perfect time to hit up an old hookup for that much-needed on-the-spot intimacy.
Think about it: Your old hookup hooked up with you because you successfully seduced her (and had some late-night fun doing it). She wouldn’t be a hookup if she didn’t want to do it all over again, so why not indulge? Restore your faith in your pickup skills by re-visiting success. Besides, there’s nothing better than having a 2 a.m. lifeline when the date ended with “let’s just be friends.”
More tips on how to bounce back and get the girl...
Talk to your female friendsWho better to give you post-rejection advice than your female friends, who will definitely help you learn how to bounce back? Women have a sixth sense for giving you the answers for why another female dumped you. Every time I’ve been caught in this bind the first thing I do is call up a few platonic girlfriends to get the breakdown of my performance. They can find all the little intricacies of your game that you didn’t even realize about yourself. Use this resource to your advantage if you have it; there’s nothing more obliging than learning the art of seduction straight from the source.
Go back to the wingman positionDon’t think of a rebuff as if it’s the end of the world; as I said earlier, knowing how to bounce back involves keeping momentum. Rejection is a fresh bruise on your ego, so there’s no time like the present to hop right back into another seduction scenario and fix what’s broken. You can do this by playing wingman for your buddies. This has a multitude of benefits, including avoiding the spotlight for once while learning a few pointers from another Player. It also relieves the pressure of having to seduce the mother hen. The wingman role is an important stepping-stone to rebuilding your confidence.
Try a different type of womanAbove all things, if you want to know how to bounce back, always come back to the fact that you’re a Player -- we don’t sweat the small stuff when it comes to women. You know that there are other types out there, so bounce back by dating different types of women. If you try and rebound with someone identical to the girl that couldn’t be, you’ll be primed to repeat another disaster.
Change things up. If you normally like the sporty types, try dating a woman with a more artsy personality. You might even discover an attraction you never knew you had. This is a chance to broaden your horizons, so don’t be afraid to change things up.
Here’s never just oneNo guy is immune to a woman who just doesn’t find that sexual attraction, so there’s no point in dwelling over a lost cause. Besides, with over three billion women on this planet, there’s always going to be better and more interesting women, and knowing this will help you learn how to bounce back easily. Leave that “there can only be one” crap for late-night Highlander reruns.
At first, we scoffed at this “short message service,” famously known as SMS. This new fad of text messaging was too impersonal, too informal, too slow, and not long after, too popular to ignore any longer. What was once a quick way to pass on short messages (remember our old, boxy Nokia phones with selectable options like “Lunch later?” or “Be home after work”?) has now become a forum for the infinite: Formal communication with our bosses, daring late-night messaging with that girl we met at spin class or even a quick hello to grandma, who also somehow has learned what “predictive text” is.
Especially concerning has been the role of SMS within the wide, wide walls of dating. Sure, we can make plans with our buddies or even avoid meetings with our coworkers, but when text messaging begins to dictate the finicky boundaries of love and lust, certain rules apply. A new sort of dialogue is beginning to emerge, so get it right before a text to her phone becomes a slap in the face.
The first dateShe completes your sentences and you open up about your fear of flying. Things begin to spark, and your first night together is a success. If you were lucky enough to pass the first relationship test -- the dreaded first date -- then congratulations. Now, don’t mess it up.
After parting ways from your first date, we once advised to give some time before calling her back and to be patient in making your second move. With the advent of text messaging this protocol has blurred, but don’t be fooled.
The best usage of the post-first-date text is its perceived innocence. Acceptable messages would be: “Hey, I had a great night with you. I can’t wait to do it again,” or, “Just heard someone laugh exactly like that woman we sat next to the other night, except this time she was 60 and had a German accent.” Little tidbits are reminders that you haven’t lost sight of the time you spent together, but avoid formalities that should be settled in person.
Under no circumstances should a man plan his second date with a woman through text. Things like, “Hey, can I pick you up at eight o'clock on Tuesday for a follow-up?” can be detrimental to an early couple’s dynamic. Leave second date plans, or any follow-up plans for that matter, for the traditional phone conversations we all know and love though increasingly try to avoid.
The follow-up date(s)You've made it this far, so now it's time to focus. The worst downfalls in text communication come with people that you know well enough to speak with but not well enough to pick up the phone and chat with. This dangerous median between comfort and the unknown seems to be the best opportunity for text messaging -- to get that message across without seeming too intrusive. However, even when you’re in the first stages of dating, certain rules still apply.
True-feeling texting: Maybe you had one too many at happy hour or just want to get your point across, but we all have a tendency to grab our phones and start thumbing at our keyboard when we want her to know exactly how we feel -- maybe we’re head over heels in love and never felt like this before, or maybe you can’t deal with the way she talks about her ex boyfriends.
No matter the quarrel, never reduce yourself to typing out the darkest of your relationship fears in a text message. Save this for face-to-face time and you’ll thank yourself for the effort since you’ll either smooth the problem over correctly or discover the unfixable flaw. If you want to tell her how much you like being with her or -- gasp -- that it might even be love, leave the written sonnets to Shakespeare and chat over dinner instead. Extremes of happiness or apprehension should be treated the same with regards to communication, so be cautious before you create more problems.
Rocky-road texting: She left for Vegas with her girlfriends, but you found out her ex will be there too. Accuse her of deceiving you or be a cool new boyfriend? Problems like this are all too common in new love bonds. No matter the answer, don’t let your plan of attack be guided by your SMS inbox.
These are the sorts of fights that become too intricate to battle within the 140-character limit that diminishes genuine feelings, no matter how right or wrong you are. Even if she provokes something, just send her a simple message back. “Don’t worry, we’ll talk later” will suffice until you dig into the problem’s root face to face.
The breakup and beyondPerhaps what happened in Vegas didn’t stay in Vegas, and your girlfriend’s two-day fling with an Argentinean fire breather from Circus Circus didn’t fly with you when she got back. Times are hard and this flame must be put out. Be classy about your approach.
Any breakup initiated by any text is classless. No e-mail, Facebook message or Twitter reply can adequately end ties with any woman under any circumstances. Text messages fall under the same category -- it may have been the worst relationship fathomable, but to break up with a woman through fickle means reflects poorly upon you and any future relationship you plan to have.
After you’ve mustered the courage to “just be friends,” don’t let the easy accessibility of text messaging ease you back into the relationship or even a casual fling. The familiarity of an ex is always alluring in the post-breakup state, especially when we haven’t completely moved on, but beware -- post-breakup romps initiated with a “what r u doin?” sent at 3 a.m. on a Saturday night often breed clinginess, inconvenience and awkward damage control soon after. If there is one lesson learned it’s that the convenience of a text message in the present can lead to more complications in the future.
Do the write thingThe message is clear: Texting is the new wave of communication whether we like it or not. We used to drunk dial and now we drunk message. We used to conference call and now we mass text. The booty call has been replaced by the booty text(s), and we are more apt to trash-talk during fantasy football with our typing fingers rather than our big mouths. Showing off our literacy has never been so popular, but don’t flush your love life down the toilet by showing that you’re uneducated within the realm of texting.
Some people believe that coffee is bad for your health. While too much caffeine can cause problems for your health, it certainly can't hurt your sex life. Cafés are excellent places to play the game of seduction with women. They’re bustling with all sorts of different people and don’t have the same overwhelming first-past-the-post race that you feel with other guys at the clubs and pubs. Yes, cafés have always been a girl gold mine for the hip and intelligent. Let’s take a look at a few techniques you can use to score at a café.
Pick your type of coffee shopMuch like bars and nightclubs, each coffee shop has its own unique atmosphere and personality. All sorts exist, including college hangouts, places full of artists and writers, fashionable downtown digs, or even just pleasantly charming franchise shops. The clientele will always seek out the atmosphere that suits their personalities best. For example, artsy types will be at the locales with the hand-painted murals on the wall and events like weekly poetry readings. Likewise, it probably isn’t the smartest idea to try and score women at a Christian coffee shop if you think religion is for chumps.
Position makes perfectOne of the best things about hanging out in a café is that they usually have some comfortable couches in which to sit and enjoy your beverage. The seats are usually positioned outward, which makes for a natural invite to the coffee-loving female crowd. This arrangement allows your target to sit in close proximity and likely within conversation distance. You might even be lucky to snag the only seat available next to the cute brunette on the couch; consider the bold move of bringing her a cup of her favorite brew if she’s still undecided over black or decaf.
If the café happens to have a patio or balcony, head outside if the weather permits. Here’s a tip: Ask her to join the two-person table that has an umbrella for a little shade and intimacy. There’s nothing like a little coffee, fresh air and her undivided attention.
Find your conversation pieceAnyone who spends more than 15 minutes in a coffee shop usually brings a good book or a newspaper. (And that’s not including yuppies and aspiring authors who clack away on their laptops like they forgot where their offices are, but I digress.) So, how does this apply to the Player? For one thing, their book or gadget is a conversation piece to break the ice.
You can find friendly commonalities with people at cafés, and a good handful of folks who meet at these places usually introduce themselves over a material object to muse over. Take a look at what book she’s reading, and know a bit about the author. Is she carrying her bike helmet? Grab your latte and show her the 10-speed you brought. Conversation doesn’t have to be forced -- it can be introduced -- just find that conversation piece.
Show up at the peak timesWhile any time of the day is a good time to meet women, you’ll have a better variety when you visit during their peak times. That includes first thing in the morning, when people need their bean fix to start the workday, during the lunch rush or in the evening when people just come to relax in a social atmosphere. Frankly, the most ideal time to score at a café would be during the evening since people are there to just relax and will likely spend more time lingering, available for a conversation or just some good company.
Make your approach quicklyCoffee is one of life’s great conveniences. With our busy schedules and constant battles to squeeze a few more minutes out of the day, coffee provides that fix so necessary to be alert and productive for the daily grind. The café experience, then, is not necessarily a relaxing place; it’s a pit stop, and for seduction purposes you have to make your move quickly. This may go against the steady approach I’ve been waxing poetic about for a long time. Time is of the essence, so make every second count. To score at a café, take a deep breath (or a gulp of your cappuccino) and approach her without wasting time. The last thing you want is to waste valuable seconds prepping your approach only to have her to walk out of the café and out of your life.
Make a café connectionTrying to score at a café is a great alternative to the bar scene. Women love to receive compliments outside of a nightlife environment, and a café is a perfect place to do just that.
Last weekend not only Kaws solo show at Honor Fraser opened, but also the “I Can’t Feel My Face” exhibition at Royal/T, which is curated by Kaws. For the occasion the artist designed this t-shirt. The Original Fake tees are now available at colette.
More detailed images of both colorways follow after the jump.
Boston’s Bodega store got together with Rockport to collaborate on the Bayshore boot, which is kind of a mid version of a boat shoe. Bodega chose materials according to durability and styling and the outcome are two colorways, both equally beautiful.
The Town Shoe comes in black leather with a melton wool collar and is lined with plaid flannel. The leather lacing and white sole are nice finishing touches. The Country version comes in a waterproof brown leather and trai laces. We would have a hard time choosing among them, they both look great. The Bodega logo appears on the inner sole and on a leather tag that comes with each shoe.
The Bodega x Rockport Boots will be released in March 14th.
While Rory Craig designed and developed a carbon fiber baby seat for a class at the Art Center College of Design, Justin designed and built this custom Gixxer for a design thesis project at the Art Institute of CA. It features a 1989 oil-cooled GSX-R 1100 engine (1200 cc) with a Wiseco kit. Besides the OEM 89′ wheels and swingarms, everything else is custom.
The entire frame, seat and tank were formed from the same piece of carbon fiber to help strengthen it up. This dropped the total weight down to 350lbs from the stock weight of 462lbs. It also has custom rearsets, triple, levers, reservoirs, lights, LED accent lights, and a ton of custom aluminum bodywork done by Linq Designs.
The bike has never been registered, so it will be considered a 2009 model if you register it. It already has a California custom blue VIN # assigned to it. The bike went around the show circuits, and made numerous appearances.
The bike also has some cool pop culture history behind it. It was featured in Kanye West’s “Stronger” music video (I’m assuming it’s one of the bikes around the 1:12 time frame which I’ve embedded to the bottom of this post). It was also in the Power Ranger’s TV show “Karmen Rider Dragon Knight”.
To see all the pictures and get all the info, check it out for sale on eBay. The “buy it now” price is set at $14,500, which seems like a pretty good deal to us. It’s a lot less than the $160,000 all carbon fiber Ducati 999S at least! Be sure to also check out the Triumph Triple Speed Carbon Edition, BMW S 1000 RR, and all carbon fiber Hayabusa that we’ve covered.

According to GM, the vehicle is nothing more than a styling buck that was influenced by the original 1959 Stingray racer when it was spotted by director Michael Bay while he was touring GM's operations looking for inspiration for the first Transformers movie.

Bossip just caught wind that Lauren London may be pregnant.
Last night my friend told me that Ms. London is expecting a baby and is 4 months pregnant. Although I can’t tell you who the father is, I can say that he is one of the top rappers in the country. Much love and let me be the first to send my congratulations and love…
With their on again, off again relationship within the last few years, Bossip speculates that it’s none other than Weezy. F. Baby (lots of babies). We would throw Diddy into the bunch, but he said “top rappers in the country” so that killed that sh*t immediately. Stay tuned….
The manufacturing process uses the finest epoxy resin system and 550,000 psi tensile carbon fiber. The carbon fiber features a 2×2 twill pattern, the weave looks absolutely gorgeous! Pictures do no justice. These are available with limited availability, so make sure you get one while we have them.

The was hand built on a carbon fiber frame from Carbo-Tech, which alone costs over $10,000. Each carbon fiber part was honed and polished and then buffed to a high gloss with multiple lacquering.
The engine was tuned up to 1037 ccm by one of Germany’s most famous motorbike tuners (BeFaster). The engine now puts out 170 hp, allowing it to run 0-60 in less than 3 seconds with a top speed over 186mph. Here’s a list of important modifications that were done:
Carbon fiber frame by CarboTech
Fairing and oil cooler by Febur
Braking system by Beringer
Shock absorbers from Oehlins
Full titanium exhaust system from Moto Corse
Racing suspension unit from Wilbers
Rims from BlackstoneTec
Much, much more.
All of the carbon fiber and titanium helped shave the total weight down to just 143 kg.
With just a few kilometeres on the odometer, it would be a perfect addition to your high-end motorcycle collection. At $160,000, it makes it one of the most expensive motorcycles in the world.
This new color of the 6 rings is supposed to be coming out here very soon, Feb. 14th is the estimated release date. According to court documents obtained by The Smoking Gun, Ross's own lawyer, Allan Zamren, last year disputed reports that the performer has ever been affiliated with any gang.
Ross's purported gang ties were explored last April during a deposition of Officer Rey Hernandez, a Miami Beach cop who arrested Ross in January 2008 on gun and marijuana charges.
According to the documents, Zamren had a problem with the case being handed to Miami's Gang Task Force.
"Because your client claims affiliation with Carol City Cartel and other known gang members," Hernandez replied.
Hernandez then directed Zamren to "some literature or video on U-Tube (youtube) that you can pull up for yourself."
Zamren then proceeded to press Hernandez on Ross's supposed gang ties.
"Do you have anybody from a Carol City gang that you have information on or basis of any knowledge that says he is affiliated with them?"
Hernandez answered, "No."
Zamren then asked,"Do you have anything that shows you he was affiliated with any gang?"
Hernandez replied,"No, I do not."
Zamren also got Hernandez to acknowledge that, prior to the January 2008 bust, Ross had never been arrested in Miami-Dade County, where he has long resided.
You can take a look at the documents obtained by The Smoking Gun via a Freedom of Information request here.
Bossip just received the real story of Chris Brown and Rihanna’s fight from a highly placed source in the Chris Brown legal camp:
They were in the car leaving the Clive Davis party. While Chris was driving, he got a phone call from a young lady. Our source tells us that Rihanna knew that Chris had been messing around with this particular girl and she has, as of late, been the reason for many of their heated arguments. Rihanna got a glimpse of the phone, saw the name and number and immediately recognized who it was. She went ballistic and began to “beat the sh*t” out of Chris (while driving). She was so uncontrollable, that Chris began to fight back in self defense, which ensued the fight. Rihanna’s rage stemmed from Chris’ questionable fidelity in the last few months.

This has to be one of the sickest tables I've come across thus far. Imagin this in an all white room with red accents. The thing looks like it’s floating, but is supported by the ooey gooey drippy droppies. I can’t speak for its structural integrity, but if it can support the weight of the upper-body of this chick… I think we’re good to go. More pics and info after the jump.
It’s made by this guy who also has some other really fun stuff in his folio.
Detailed images follow after the jump.
