adidas SLVR WINTERBOOT

It doesn’t come any simpler or more utilitarian than this. adidas’ fashion-centric SLVR collection creates a hybrid offering for the winter season. Aptly titled the WINTERBOOT, it features a sneaker tooling with an upper referencing a pair of solid boots. The black/white contrast helps highlight the extensive tooling. Available at select retailers including No 74 with a retail price of €200 EUR (approximately $276 USD).

At last - KANYE WEST - RUNAWAY

At long last here’s the 35-minute short film Kanye briefly teased at the VMAs last month. The usual suspects — Pusha T, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj (in a Brit accent), and Bon Iver — make vocal assists, and allegedly 90% of this soundtrack will appear on the forthcoming LP. “Runaway” (written by Hype Williams and shot in Prague over the summer) was inspired by groundbreaking cinematic rock films like Thriller, Purple Rain and The Wall. Which explains the papier-mâché model of Michael Jackson’s head.

Carbon Fiber + G-Shock = The Ultimate Casio Watch

Just by browsing through our store, you can tell that we have a thing for carbon fiber watches. As of now, we currently have nine different watches that can be purchased directly from us. So it should be of no surprise to you, that when we first got wind of Casio’s two new carbon fiber watches, well, we got a little giddy. Just a couple months ago, Casio released two new watches from their GW-S5600 series; the GW-S5600 and the GW-S5600B.
Besides the physically attractive characteristic of carbon fiber, these watches are now stronger and lighter than your average Casio watch which is known to be multi-functional with shock and waterproof capabilities. While we’re usually used to just the face of the watch being carbon fiber, the new GW-S5600 series also sports a carbon fiber band. Special features of the watches include radio-syncing for time accuracy and solar charging. This means, no batteries!

The GW-S5600 was released on June 30 for about $340 US dollars while the GW-S5600B was released on July 31 for $362 US dollars. The difference between the two watches is solely based on colors, the GW-S5600 includes a black/white LCD while the GW-S5600B includes a black/black LCD with red trim. Both pieces will only be available in a limited run of 1,500 pieces per style. Unfortunately you’ll only be able to buy it in Japan as well, unless you can find a company that imports them into the US.

Reader Questions - Why do I treat him that way?

What up readers,
I haven’t brought up any discussions in a while, so today I decided to go through my inbox and read some of the questions sent to me.  I came across this particular question that really got me thinking and I wanted to see what your thoughts on the topic were.
Ledi Hernandez from Miami asked;
Why do I treat my new, much better man, worse than I did the dude that cheated on me?
I look at this question first with very logical eye, and then I took a step back and really got into the meat of what she was asking.  I then asked myself have I ever done that…… sadly, yes.  Not on purpose, but subconsciously.  I decided to answer this from a man perspective vs. a woman.  Seeing as I can’t genetically answer this as a woman. J
Scenario 1; A man goes through a crappy relationship where he was basically “used” beyond reason by a woman.  He was the nice guy, paid for dates, opened doors, and even held hands, all the stuff you would think a woman would want, yet still found the short end of the stick.  That man then finds new woman who has never done anything wrong to him, nor has any intentions of doing so, and this same man who spoiled a “rat” won’t even take out the trash for this unsuspecting victim of circumstance.  Where is the disconnect?
It happens when the mind is so turned off, hell bent and set in its ways on not being that “victim” again, that they will totally drop the qualities that make them a “good” man or woman in the first place.  This is where the problem starts.  Why would you abandon the qualities that make you a catch, because the person you got rid of or, were left by was less than what you expected?  How is that fair to the next person to have to get this “half-ass” version of you, when a total d-bag/rat got the best of you? It’s NOT!
I like to look at my own relationships and reference them because they are good examples for me.  I dated a woman that was used, physically, mentally, and financially by a guy who by normal man standards was a bum.  She gave this dude a LOT of herself, with minimal in return, yet stayed in the situation for whatever reason she felt valid.  Fed him, clothed, him, probably even gassed his ride and in the end, they broke up and here I come along.
In most cases, I’m far from what you would call a “nice guy”; a gentleman at all times, but not a “nice guy”.  Things that come naturally to men like me are unheard of by this last clown-act, and even with the best of etiquette schools, this guy would not measure up.  This woman was so cautious with me that it took a toll on our relationship very quickly.  Getting a grilled cheese sandwich out of her was like asking for money.  And there I found myself asking, where is the disconnect?
Needless to say, she was replaced with a much more appreciative woman, but I had to ask myself, was it me? Did I lack a talent the last guy did, or was she just so mentally damaged by the last dude that she was incapable change?
There are two halves to our minds, the conscious half, and the subconscious half, and each are VERY different!  Our conscious side says “This guy is nothing like my last dude!” Enthusiastically!  And the subconscious side says “Show no emotion so we don’t get hurt again!” Remorsefully.  Wonder who is going to win that fight…….? Your right, you’re subconscious!  Just like your body has its defenses against physical wounds and injuries, your subconscious mind has its defenses against emotional shocks and wounds. These are called ego defense mechanisms or unconscious defense mechanisms.  The ego defense mechanisms' main function is to protect your well-being and to help you overcome emotional shocks.  But it is also very blind, not always seeing what’s best for the person it embodies.
Using your conscious and subconscious mind together:
As you can see, the conscious and the subconscious parts of the mind form a team. The first handles some tasks then assigns them to the second, the second after that sends feedback and messages about the task done in the form of emotions to the first.  Emotions are no more than messages sent by your subconscious mind in order to alert you of something.  By learning how to make the best use of the cooperation between your conscious and subconscious mind, your life skills will improve and you will have much more control over your emotions and life situations.
Don’t let your subconscious accidentally protect you from a good thing……Hope this helps.

What is the Difference Between Modern and Contemporary Interior Design?

Both were a 20th century marvel when they first started to over-throw the rustic or antiquarian type of solid furniture and patterned furnishings, which had dominated home décor for centuries. So, what is the difference between modern and contemporary interior design? Modern design is the use of lower cost furniture, which is clean, stylish and mass produced. Contemporary design came about later in the 1900′s, and is more of a leaning towards using recycled materials, glass and an all manner of molded variations of plastics, plaster and the use of chrome too. That is what is known as the difference between modern and contemporary interior design.

• The difference between modern and contemporary interior design is that modern design uses more tabular steel, iron or chrome. Although the two designs are similar, later in the 20th century, materials started to become molded into curvy shapes, plywood used on walls, cabinets and benches. Each one of those styles can transfer to contemporary, although it is neater, linear and spacious rather than funky.
• Many think the difference between modern and contemporary interior design is the timing. It is said that many modern designs become contemporary over time. This is another reason they are so closely linked but also why they are different. Contemporary design is elegant and could last a very long time, whilst modern changes regularly.
• One area which has no difference between modern and contemporary interior design, is the styling. Both designs follow symmetry, composition and clean cut lines. Both have nice, clean looks and can be very long lasting, even if modern does transfer into contemporary at some point along the way. Whichever is your personal preference, your house will soon be called home, as both designs are very comforting as well as chic, elegant and suave.

16 Biofireplaces That Drop Energy Bills… And Panties

No ash, no odor, no chimney, no installation, no toxic fumes…… no panties.
There are no prices listed on the Italian manufacturer’s website — so you can bet one of these will probably set you back at least several thou.  Most of the models have a 2.5L reservoir that holds enough fuel to burn for about 6 hours.  Lightweight models appropriate for wall-mounting or coffee table placement.  Each model even comes with a free lighter.  This is a no-brainer for me
