For those of you who don’t speak French (I don’t haha) the phrase, “Les Arts Vivants” means living art, which is the concept and name for a fashion show/event I am producing and lead designer on, coming up in less than 4 weeks here in Miami during Art Basel. I am sharing this with you because I am asking your forgiveness in advance if I am not as prompt with my postings. This show is an amazing opportunity for me to showcase my creative side as I am designing a collection of dresses all made out of recycled materials such as newspapers (WWD haha), old fliers, canvas and whatever else I can get my hands on!! The dress in the picture, I created out of duct tape, newspaper and paint (that is also my dog Brutus who will be in the show!!).
I am really excited as Art Basel is the largest art festival in the US and the demographic is wealthy international travelers. www.artbasel.com. Not only am I the lead designer, but I am also the Executive Producer of the event, so as you can imagine, I am one busy girl! Thank goodness I am working with an amazing team and I expect the results to be spectacular. I will be updating the progress of the event as I go along and don’t worry…. I will be doing my best to keep the site updated as well…it just might get tough from time to time.
