Stylish Manly Coffee Table - D R O O L !

Stylish manly fresh design – that’s Kedo K-3 carbon fiber coffee table from Italy. The table is made of real carbon fiber and lightweight Termanto foam also known as the PVC foam. It’s finished off with an extra clear grade glass top. The design is very stylish and cool, at the bottom rests two rounded-rectangular shaped wooden feet. The glass top is rested with the help of steel base connectors. The price for such a cool modern design is high – $3,560. But such a piece would refresh any modern or minimalist interior. If your pocket allows such a piece, that would be a wise solution for your living room.

The Mood Rocking Bed sways as you lay

"Not gonna lie, this looks like it would make sex difficult...Just sayin!"

Summers are best spent outdoors, in the lap of nature. But you also get tired soon as the summer heat drains out your energy. So what you need is a well ventilated and cool room with a comfy bed. You got a plethora of options to pick from too. And to add to the list, is a chic and comfortable new bed called Mood Rocking Bed by Shiner. Designed by Joe Manus, it is more than a glorified rocking chair, and stands true to its name as you can rock to sleep or set the levels of incline to suite your state of mind with rubber stoppers.

Swedish House Decorated With Natural Materials - D R O O L !

This house is located to the south of Stockholm. It was built in the 60s and now it was rebuilt and the interiors were refreshed. The main color is white to widen the space as possible and to add lightness to the house; the interiors are modern and in some way minimalist. The materials used are mostly natural: wood, stone, leather. Classical Scandinavian interior was decorated with the very modern furniture: leather lounge chairs, bookshelves and mantelpieces. I like the bathroom: natural wood shelves in the combination with natural stone give a feeling of calmness and relaxation. The house leaves a lasting impression of an oasis of peace which nevertheless has everything you need.

News Planet Vinyl Wall Map

Decorating the walls of your less-than-humble abode is no easy task. Even if you just paint them a shade of your favorite color you’re looking at around $200 for the tiniest of jobs and that doesn’t include the cost of labor. Once you factor in the labor (along with the paint, rollers, multiple coats and all the pizza and beer you have to buy your buddies), you’re probably looking at more than you ever planned on spending. Even if you go that route, it’s still going to be the same lame Sherwin Williams color that anyone else can get, and that’s boring. Scrap the paint idea entirely and go with one of these News Planet Vinyl Wall Maps. Designed by Christian Benini, each vinyl map is composed of different news stories from around the globe and can be sized to the length of the surface you need to cover. It still won’t tell you where in the world Carmen Sandiego is, but at least your walls look better. $TBD

Esuoh House by Hofman and Brown Architects

“We want you to re-invent the Yallingup holiday house, create a retreat from the everyday, a destination in itself, a getaway where you can watch a movie under the stars or sun yourself on a daybed by the pool, a striking and sophisticated ‘bunker’ that is out of the ordinary”.
This was the brief from the clients for their 2009m2  site in the heart of the south-west wine region of Western Australia.  The design intent was to create a simple dwelling that exudes a resort ambience with a contemporary feel and a blend of style and comfort.  The owners wanted a private retreat to suit their family with two children, a place to share with friends, a house with a difference in the luxury holiday rental market.
The site is set within bushland and connects to public open space to the east.  The aim was to enjoy the connection with the adjacent bush landscape while also creating a more private “internal” connection to the outdoors, with a protected north-east “outdoor room” incorporating the plunge pool and outdoor cinema, framed by the enclosing stone walls.
The materials palette was chosen for it’s robustness, ease of maintenance, environmental performance and local flavour.  The stabilised rammed limestone walls are a warm grey and combine with the waxed dado plaster, polished concrete, aluminium, glass and stone, to form a restrained but textural language for the project.
Linear in plan, the single level house comprises 8 bays of 3.6 metre wide, each separated by stabilized rammed earth blade walls.  The single low pitched skillion roof collects rainwater, as the only source of water for the house.  The fully glazed north elevation is shaded by a full length “verandah” that provides an indoor/outdoor transition space for the living room and each of the four bedrooms.  The south, west and east elevations are predominantly solid earth walls with strategically placed “punched” openings to frame views and capture breeze.  Maximum solar access, effective cross ventilation and high levels of natural daylight provide an environmentally responsive habitat.
As an integral part of the planning strategy, the linear form allowed every room to have a northern outlook, with the living zone at the east end and bedrooms to the west end.  Three of the bedrooms are queen rooms, with the end room a kids bunk and play room.  The house successfully accommodates a large group of adults or two families with children, with a happy balance of privacy and community.
Since completion, Esuoh has been almost fully booked as a luxury holiday retreat.  The extremely positive guest reviews are testament to the fact that the owners have provided a unique and sophisticated destination, that is, indeed “out of the ordinary”.

Spacewalker Junior Lamp

Perhaps movies like Independence Day have made us a bit fearful of what extraterrestrial life might bring to our planet.  The little buggers are always shown blasting ray-guns at our historic landmarks instead of, say, coming in peace with a few cold ones.  We can tell you this, if some little guy wandered into our place and illuminated our home office with his head glowing like E.T.’s finger, we’d want him to stick around for a while for utilitarian purposes.  Spacewalker Junior is the brainchild of Constantin Wotmann and looks like a glowing, stable bobblehead.  Use it to light up a shelf or as a floor lamp in any room of your bachelor pad (we assume wives and live-in girlfriends will need a little convincing on the alien light fixture).  As long as it doesn’t come to life while we sleep and destroy the Lincoln Memorial we’re cool. $236

Futuristic Apartment In Space Ship Style - D R O O L !

Designers Mikhail and Elena Miroshkin from Geometrix Design created this futuristic apartment in Moscow. The project is called Fantastic Island. Through the entrance door we get into a spacious living room where the kitchen is separated from all the other rooms by a glass baffle. Such a solution makes the space look airy and light. The home cinema looks really fantastic! It’s a big black glass panel with a circle of LEDs. I like the strict geometric forms everywhere and a spirit of futurism. Clear lines of the furniture and accessories – there is nothing unnecessary. The color scheme is minimalist: white, black, dark grey and natural wood. In some way this apartment reminds of a space ship, doesn’t it?

Daniel Marshall Architects’ work of art-The Korora House

The Korora House designed by Daniel Marshall Architects is an award winning home on Waiheke Island in New Zealand. Having won the Home of the Year Finalist award in 2010, this stunning house is a piece of heaven for those of you who love being close to nature.

The house was designed keeping in mind the landscape and weather on the island. Therefore the architects had a challenging project and succeeded in building a wonderful home. The house is placed between two courtyards and is set within the contour of the ridge in order to minimize the impact of the landscape. Some of the materials used were cedar and plywood for a better reflection of precarious weekenders of the island’s past.

The space has large floor to ceiling windows that bathe the house in natural light and it also presents wonderful furnishings. The pieces throughout the house are mainly contemporary but with some traditional ones, that give it flavor.
With features like a swimming pool, beautiful fireplace and astounding views the Korora House is a true work of art.
