Porsche Design's hookah pipe: Emitting fumes stylishly

There is no area that has not been touched by the Porsche Design studio, and now the iconic fashion ideas of the Porsche Design luxury brand are revealed at its best in the brand new Shisha or Hookah pipe. Their new German-made bong-like pipe is inspired from the Hookahs used in Middle-Eastern region and is available at the Porsche’s new shop at Harrods department store in London, Knightsbridge, although the store was sold to a Qatari royal family, which in turn just happens to own 10 percent of Porsche.

This elegant pipe is made of materials such as aluminum, stainless steel and glass combined with TecFlex pipes. The company has used the same material that it uses in the range of luxury writing instruments. This made-in-Germany pipe is not only made with obdurate engineering and innovation but also with a concern of customer’s safety. This Shisha is 55 cm tall and is elegantly crafted with aluminum top and glass bottom that also makes it a collectible item for your living room. There is no clue of price as of now, but we will keep you posted about it.

Widebody Prosche Cayman Via H.H

I ran into Brad yesterday and got a chance to check out his Porsche Cayman that’s fitted with a custom carbon fiber wide body kit that he designed and put together. The kit should be released sometime in January. All it needs now are some power additives because the last thing you wanna do is roll out looking like a beast but running like a panzy. LOL.

…and no not that’s not chicken wire…it’s real McMaster grill. LOL

Porsche Panamera gets a upgrade from Mcchip

The German tuners from Mcchip-dkr GmbH have developed a performance kit for the new Porsche Panamera providing an upgrade from 500 hp and 700 Nm of torque to 550 hp and 775 Nm. The chip tuning increases the Panamera’s top speed up to 311 km/h from the earlier 303 km/h, and costs some €1,499. Other than the chip tuning the folks from Mcchip also offer a new set of wheels "which I'm not really impressed by" from Cargraphic fitted with Continental performance tires. That new wheels and the tires costs €7,969 whereas a set of rims with Dunlop Sport tires has a price tag of €8,089. And if you were wondering, the semi-matte rim finish is priced as €179 per wheel.

Porsche supercar design by Emil Baddal.

Iranian designer Emil Baddal has blended some Zuffenhausen DNA with a sort of Veyron-esque profile for his Porsche concept. Baddal did not name the concept nor did he give out any details about the idea behind the creation of the Porsche project car which appears to be what we’d describe as a freestyle design exercise. Porsche Panamera CLR 700GT Lumma Design Edition.

German tuning masters Lumma Design are at their best when they take on the likes of the Porsche Panamera. This time around they managed to model a ruby dubbed CLR 700GT. This edition of the Panamera comes with a widebody kit and a fresh front end. Another attractive feature is the wheel arch which has 22-inch rims and upgraded brakes that ride on a suspension lessened by 1.38-inches. An attraction at the rear is the carbon-fiber wing and so is the rear bumper with an aerodynamic diffuser and quad tailpipes. Talk about the engine power and Lumma has unleashed a 700 metric horsepower beast which completes the overall aggressive package. [via Autoblog]

Porsche Panamera by 9ff

Dortmund-based tuning powerhouses 9ff are nipping at Gemballa’s heels to pump out the first tuned versions of the Porsche’s forthcoming sedan, the Panamera. Since 9ff immerse themselves in everything Porsche and are known for some brutish creations, their first crack at the front-engined four-door should be right on target. They offer three different horsepower upgrades-550, 600, and 650bhp, up from the 500bhp that the Panamera Turbo serves up in stock guise. 9ff, usually indifferent to the aesthetics game, also offers a body kit which includes updated bumpers, a new front lip, a reworked diffuser and exhaust, and sleek side skirts. Opting for the 650bhp version gets you a functionally vented bonnet, which looks devilish as well. The rolling stock are swapped out for massive 22-inch 3-piece wheels, and the interior is customizable as well. Again, not typically 9ff’s modus operandi, but the Panamera appeals to a different audience altogether; we’re sure that despite the added exterior features, 9ff’s Panameras will sell just as well as their 911-based vehicles.

When Porsche and Carbon Fiber make babies!

When Mansory touches a car, we know that it will come out absolutely insane. Take the Mansory Vincero, a Bugatti Veyron we covered a little while back which had almost $1 million in modifications on an car that already costs $1.4 million. So what happens with Mansory uses their newly acquired portion of Rinspeed Porsche tuning, and gets their hands on a Porche Cayenne Turbo S Chopster? I think this picture speaks for itself:

Most of the car was replaced with carbon fiber, including the front/rear apron, doors, bhood, and wings. The SUV was also widened by 80mm. Mansory uses dry carbon fiber, which uses an autoclave to form the carbon, allowing for the strongest and lightest carbon fiber available. Four extra headlights were added, which give an interesting look the car:

The turbo size was increased, along with a tuned engine management system and an exhaust. This gives the V8 an impressive 710hp, allowing for a 187mph top speed. The wheels were replaced with 23×11 wheels, that are tucked closer to the wheel well due to an air suspension that can lower the SUV by 45mm.

Just because Mansory spent all that time updating the exterior and what’s under the hood, doesn’t mean they stopped there. The interior uses flawless leather skins that are finished by hand. All of the seats are replaced with four individual seats with carbon fiber shells. There are two monitors in the center console, as well as a DVD player and laptop with internet connection.

We’ve yet to see pricing info released yet.

Yep, another Porsche post. Porsche Introduces Exclusive 911 Sport Classic

Just ahead of the Frankfurt Autoshow, Porsche drops a dime on their latest creation, the 911 Sport Classic. With only 250 iterations slated for production, the Sport Classic certainly is a rare breed. Taking cues from the Carrera S, the 911 Sport Classic is powered by a 3.8-liter six cranking out 408 ponies, 23 more than cousin Carrera. This is mainly thanks to a modified intake manifold which boasts “six vacuum-controlled switching flaps.” The Sport Classic boogies from 0-62 mph in 4.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 187 mph.

The retro 911 comes with all the goodies you would expect from Porsche including ceramic composite brakes, a PASM sport tuned suspension (which lowers the ride height 20mm), a mechanical rear axle differential and custom 19-inch wheels with high performance tires. The SC speaks loudly to classic Porsche fans with its retro styling Sport Classic Grey paint scheme, double dome roof, 44mm wider rear end, a “Sport Design” front splitter, clear lens taillights and large ducktail rear spoiler paying homage to the classic 1973 Carrera RS 2.7. Inside, you will notice the brown woven leather sport seats, “Espresso Nature” leather christened dashboard, a beautiful Alcantara roof lining and eye popping detail on six-speed only shifter and handbrake.

You can pick up your 911 Sport Classic starting in January 2010 for $241k. Who said exclusivity was cheap!?! With only 250 being made I would suggest go to your nearest Porsche dealership starting NOWISH! Source

The Oakley Design Porsche Panamera is a Toned Beast

Oakley Design is a British tuning house that know their way with Porsche cars and to prove that, their latest work is a heavily toned down model of the Porsche Panamera. With a carbon fiber construction, the tuning house had managed to reduce the overall weight of the car by 75kg. Integrations like a tweaked rear spoiler, front splitter and 20-inch wheels, all in carbon, are responsible for this weight reduction. Performance wise the little beast has been tweaked with Turbo assistance and now outpus 680 horses. But in case you do not prefer a Turbo upgrade, even a slight adjustment to the exhaust and ECU will get you 580hp which is not meager by any figment of imagination. We’d like to get behind the wheel to push the pedal … [via gtspirit.com]

The Aerokit 2 offers Audi-like daytime running lights (LED bar), TechArt’s Vario suspension dropping the ride height 30 mm all around and 19′ wheels in the front and 20s outback. P800 911 Twin-Turbo by Switzer Performance - Ugh, they just keep coming!

The first Switzer car we featured, an 800bhp GT2, was so popular among Porsche owners that regular (if you could call them that) 911 Turbo owners requested a similar package. Now aided not only by all-wheel-drive but also 800bhp, the P800 screams through the quarter mile in only 10.5 seconds, and hits 60 in less than 3 seconds. Familiar upgrades to the turbos and intercooler, as well as to the ECU, exhaust, and clutch help create and transfer all 800 ponies to all four wheels. Oh, and it looks good, too.

Porsche 911 2010 GT3 RS - DOPE!!!

You all know the Porsche is my unicorn. But peep this new MOSTER they have released.

Coming on the heels of the latest presentation of the Porsche 911 Turbo for 2010 comes a more performance-minded creation in the form of the 911 GT3 RS. The smooth linear power delivery courtesy of a naturally-aspirated 3.8 L engine brings to the table more power than its regular GT3 counterpart with a 15 horsepower boost resulting in a total of 450 ponies. In addition comes an updated gearbox with shorter shifts and improved handling, all expected with a more performance-minded update to a present day classic. The full press-release can be seen below.

Delivering even more engine power, lower weight and shorter transmission ratios, as well as upgraded body and suspension components than all previous GT3s, the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS sets the foundation for homologating the race version of the 911 GT3 and will be introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show September 17-27, 2009.

The heart of the new, uncompromising GT3 RS is the power unit. Like the engine featured in the 911 GT3, the naturally-aspirated RS power unit now displaces 3.8 liters and delivers even more power, while revving up even faster to its 8500 rpm redline. It now delivers 450 horsepower, 15 more horsepower than its 911 GT3 counterpart. Even with a specific output of more than 118 hp per liter from the six-cylinder boxer engine, the power unit in the new GT3 RS remains fully suitable for everyday use.

The new 911 GT3 RS comes exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox optimized for short gearshift travel, low weight and high efficiency. To enhance the level of performance throughout the entire range of engine and road speed, the transmission comes with shorter ratios than found in the 911 GT3, deliberately conceding an even higher potential top track speed.

Dynamic engine mounts are standard and serve to improve the car’s handling to an even higher level. Depending on driving conditions, the mounts change in their stiffness and damping effect, improving the connection between the engine and the body when driving under very lively conditions, yet allow for more comfortable conditions during everyday street use.

Porsche is also introducing another new option in 2010 for the GT3 RS, a lithium-ion battery. Delivered with the car and, when replacing the conventional lead-acid battery, it reduces the weight by more than 10 kg or 22 lb and is mainly intended for the track.

To further improve its sporting behavior, the new 911 GT3 RS comes with a purpose-built and specially set up PASM suspension, a wider front and rear track and corresponding bodywork.

The front axle comes with nine-inch-wide wheels running on 245/35 ZR 19 sports tires while the rear axle features twelve-inch-wide wheels incorporating 325/30 ZR 19 sports tires.

The new 911 GT3 RS shows its close connection to motorsport through its dynamic looks, in particular by its low ride height, the new, extra large carbon-fiber rear wing and titanium exhaust system.

The 2010 911 GT3 RS goes on sale in the U.S. in early spring of 2010 and will be priced at $132,800.
