Skating on Carbon Fiber - DROOL!

We all know how carbon fiber is commonly found in exotic cars, making your dream Ferrari that much more of a dream. But thanks to Louis Bradier‘s SocBoarding Carbon #1 downhill longboard, made entirely of carbon fiber, it is now more affordable and realistic for us common-folk to cruise in style.

Louis Bradier has taken his career of mechanical engineering and design and manufactured this gnarley board. Bradier’s site describes the carbon fiber board in detail,
“It features a foam core construction with a torsion box, an impact tough injected polyurethane edge and load distributors. Tech. Spec.: Length: 1050 mm, Max width: 260 mm, Wheelbase: 900 mm, Weight: 1.5kg, Longitudinal and torsional flex: close to none”

The SPC#1 is definitely not intended to show off your latest and greatest tricks but instead provide a nice and easy ride. Carbon fiber’s lightness assists the SPC#1 in lowering energy absorption thus increasing speed. Not only will you get to your destination faster, you’ll be comfortable the whole ride there as Bradier designed with comfort in mind.
Make sure to check out the shape of the carbon fiber board, it’s meant to resemble the shape of a human body. And next, check out the graphic on the bottom of the board, reminding you of a smooth ride. I don’t know about you but the SPC#1 makes me want to take up skateboarding!

HH MAGAZINE: HEAVY HITTERS MAGAZINE ISSUE 17

Why is that the advertisers in the HH magazine get latest issues weeks before I do? WTF? I have to drive to the office praying and begging that the issues are still there and then everyone else get it’s mailed directly to their house. Well, since I can’t change a gear, belt or a cog in this retarded system, I’ve decided that it’s much easier (and closer) to take a drive to an advertisers house to check out the new issue and that’s exactly what I did lastnight.  So here it is! They should hit newsstands very shortly. - John Jarasa

Crazy Things Women Do On Facebook

The Facebook phenomenon has allowed you to reconnect with your best friend from elementary school, keep up with your buddy’s travels and get out of hours-long phone conversations with your aunt. It truly is a remarkable tool. However, as with most things, there is a dark side to Facebook. While your male brain may not have tapped in to the full manipulation potential of this seemingly innocuous social networking tool, chances are several of the women you know have. Women are trained in the art of creating, maintaining and controlling relationships, and Facebook is just one more resource they can use to keep tabs on and influence people. Here's a list of some crazy things women do on facebook.

Women set up fake profiles to follow exes on Facebook

This one may seem a bit extreme, but it is certainly not unheard-of for a woman to set up a fake Facebook persona in order to creep on her ex’s profile. At the very least, she might get a mutual friend to allow her a little access to an ex’s Facebook page. Whether you broke up badly or it was mostly mutual, if you don’t keep in touch, she probably wants to know what you’re up to. Instead of calling or e-mailing you, it’s easier and less embarrassing to scope out your profile while you are blissfully unaware that she is checking up on you. If you want to prevent this from happening, don’t add any strangers to your friends list. If you have a friend you know is still in touch with her, keep your interactions limited.

Women manipulate through Facebook photos

The photos a woman posts on her profile can be innocent -- or they can be totally manipulative. Another crazy thing women do on Facebook is to put up embarrassing or compromising photos of people that have gotten on her bad side. When a guy breaks up with a girl and the next day photos of him in one of her dresses hit her profile, it’s not only vindictive, but also pretty immature.

A woman might also use her Facebook photo albums to present an image of herself that doesn’t exactly match up to reality. In her photos she might appear more sexy, more adventurous and altogether more exciting than she is in real life.

Women post passive-aggressive Facebook status updates

The Facebook status update can share big news with your friends or the mundane activities of your day, but for some women they can also serve an emotionally manipulative purpose. Whether it’s because she hates confrontation or she just wants the world to know what a jerk her boyfriend is, some women use their status updates to air complaints about their relationship instead of sitting down and talking it out directly. For example: “Valerie visited the jewelery store and is tired of waiting!!!!” could be a not-so-subtle clue that she doesn’t want to wait for that engagement ring much longer. Post-breakup, a woman might post status updates that hint at a crazy social life: “Melanie is exhausted from a crazy night!” or “Jessica is having a great day,” are both the types of messages that say a lot more when they come right after a big breakup.

Women post ambiguous relationship photos

It’s not uncommon to see pictures of women with their arms around their friends, kissing them on the cheek, whether their friends are men or women. For some, these may be innocuous expressions of affection for their good friends, but for others they could be an attempt to elicit an envious response from their partners. These ambiguous photos with other guys could also cause other people to question the strength of her relationship with her boyfriend.

If it’s a single girl posting pics of her getting close to guys without making it clear whether or not they are dating, it can throw people off when they are thinking about making a move, causing them to be unsure of whether or not she’s already taken.

Posting a fake relationship status

Some unattached women choose “in a relationship” for their profile just so people won’t start matchmaking or single-girl-pitying. A single woman of a certain age is a prime target for people who think everyone should be paired off in "happily ever after" relationships. Some single women even arrange with one of their close girlfriends to be each other’s “in a relationship with” person to avoid this kind of condescending sympathy. They’d rather raise questions about their sexual orientation than leave the space blank.

WOMEN DO CRAZY THINGS ON FACEBOOK

Facebook can be a force for good when it’s used responsibly, but it can also be destructive to a relationship or a reputation if the person who wields the power thinks she can do so with impunity. Unfortunately, if she’s determined to keep it up, there’s not much you can do about any of these behaviors other than expressing your displeasure and asking her to cut it out. If she’s your girlfriend she should have enough consideration for you to hear you out. If she’s your ex, all you can do is kick yourself in the ass for agreeing to try on that dress in the first place.

Inception - A MUST SEE !

It's hard to think of another studio blockbuster of this size as smart, dark and complex as Inception. It's a studio risk to spend this much money on an intelligent $200+ million production without dragons, superheroes or iconic graphic novels involved – though the fact it's directed by the man behind The Dark Knight doesn't hurt.

Inception is an original story guided by a broken moral compass and considering writer/director Christopher Nolan's track record this is exactly the sort of anti-hero content he revels in. Like his breakout hit MementoInception plays with time and space with a Mulholland/Lynchian vibe, Kubrickian corridors and a taste for spy novels and corporate espionage.

At the center of it all is a group of con men specifically trained to navigate your thoughts, and hired to steal whatever secrets your subconscious may be hiding. However, this time, rather than the routine extraction, their interest is in planting the seed, or the "inception" of an idea. The morality of this scenario is overshadowed by the team's leader, a father with a desire to see his children once again and this job could win him his freedom. These aren't heroes we're watching on screen, they're villains of the most dangerous sort. They come at you when you least expect it and are at your most vulnerable… in your dreams.

Nolan has designed an entire set of rules to carry out this miraculous story, a story so big that while you're watching it you can't believe it isn't falling apart and is instead only getting increasingly complex. Yet it's never so complex you can't follow what's going on, though you will be left to question everything you saw just before the credits roll.

To tell the story Nolan has recruited a perfect cast of names that properly fit each role and bring something to their characters either through their command of a scene, the cut of their jib or the overall joy it is to hear them delivering lines (I'm looking at you Mr. Tom Hardy).

Leonardo DiCaprio as Dom Cobb is at the center of it all, an extractor with an ambiguous past who has been forced to turn to a world of illegality to maintain a place in it. DiCaprio reflects Cobb's paranoia and torment all while maintaining a modicum of control over the team he's assembled to carry out the job. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days of Summer) plays Arthur, the researcher of the group; Tom Hardy (Bronson) brings his personality to Eames, a dreamworld forger and light-hearted tormentor of Arthur; Dileep Rao (Avatar) plays the team's chemist Yusuf; Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai) plays Saito, the man with the business deal; and Cillian Murphy (28 Days Later) plays the mark whose mind is the scene of the crime.

The two lovely ladies of the story begin with Marion Cotillard as Mal, Cobb's wife and source of constant anguish. It's hard to imagine a replacement for Cotillard whose soft features, delicate line delivery and wide eyes add intrigue with only a glance. If Inception has a heart it beats with Mal.

The film's other female voice is Ellen Page as the team's architect Ariadne, a name taken directly from Greek mythology. She serves as the conscience of the film, questioning the rights and wrongs, but like the audience she soon succumbs to the wonder of it all. The imagination gone wild and the belief anything is possible. This is the true wonder ofInception, the fact Nolan has created a world where anything can happen and the logic of it all services this creative spirit. You aren't left to wonder how and if something can be done, and in seeing it twice I'm relatively positive I've been able to sort out every layer of this mind-bending onion.

Action sequences mix the weightlessness of The Matrix with the practical effects of 2001. CG is used liberally, but never in a way that it stalls or disrupts the story. Most impressive is Nolan's embracing of the slow motion craze, but only because he uses it to tell the story. Slow motion has reason here, this isn't the oft copied Zack Snyder on overdrive. While certain shots are certainly made to look cooler through the use of slow motion they also service the rules of navigating the world of the dream.

Hans Zimmer provides another powerful and effective score and I swear film editor Lee Smith was asked to edit this thing down as much as humanly possible. At just under two-and-a-half-hours Inception couldn't be any shorter than it is and if any cuts were made it would appear they were made to tighten the action sequences as any and all story exposition is an absolute must.

Christopher Nolan has managed to bring a challenging blockbuster of epic size and scope to the big screen and he deserves it with the $1+ billion he earned Warner Bros. after The Dark Knight. Considering the production budget on this one it may come at a loss for the studio, but if such gems as this are the "thank you" from a studio to a talented filmmaker, I'm happy the gesture was made and as an audience member I gladly accept.

New Toyota Supra Soon? Maybe.

Word is that a new Toyota Supra could be out in the market soon. This possibility was sparked off by a comment made by the head of Toyota, whose key interest was in developing a fifth generation Supra.

The concept of the vehicle was unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in 2007, and when the car comes out it will be the first to see the light of day since the cancellation of the Mark IV in 2002.

Akio Toyoda, head of Toyota Motor Co. was a fourth generation Supra owner, and is widely known to be a fan of the hybrid. According to early reports, the car could be using a hybrid powertrain to power it, which includes a V6 engine.

It is unclear, however, whether focusing on the fifth generation Supra is actually the way Toyota is going. Reports say the company is preparing a replacement to the MR-2. Moreover, the FT-86 sports car is in the advanced development stages with Subaru, and there is a possibility that the company may not see a Supra release as an immediate plan.

Cool iPhone Dock in the Shape of a Shelf

I have more than a week since I have an Iphone 3GS and I have to say that I love this phone. Now since I’ve bought this phone I’m more aware of all the things that are related to iphones. One of those things that got my attention is Finite Elemente’s new Hohrizontal 51 is what you could call a sound board, and is basically a good-looking iPod and iPhone dock in the shape of a shelf. That’s not all. It comes with all of the necessary ports to connect it to your home theater system and a remote control. The load capacity of the shelf is around 55 pounds, but that actually depends on the wall that it’s fixed onto, since this is a floating shelf. The Hohrizontal 51 should be available soon, although the $660 asking price is pretty cold. – Via – Freshbump

Creative Small Table with Storage – Balancing Boxes by Porro

Balancing Boxes are designed by Swedish design group Front for Porro. It’s a small table that consists of a series of irregularly overlapping white or black painted metal boxes. Visually it appears like a box falling into a void, as immortalised by a photograph or in a Futurist painting. Inclinations, interpenetrations and a multifaceted image, giving different sensations if we look at it from different angles. The cool thing is that these boxes not only looks cool but also have some space to store small things. If you place such table near your bed in the bedroom you might even store there some books you’re currently reading.
