Swagger collaborates with Levi’s on a Swagger Branch exclusive model of jeans called the 5WA99er-505. The heavily distressed denim will be available Saturday December 11, 2010 at Swagger stores in Japan.

**WOMENS** Levi’s Launches Curve ID Jeans - Bout damn time.

With the tag line  stating t “All Asses Are Not Created Equal,” Levi’s launched the Curve ID denim  for women  in New York last night. The line offers to remediate  some  common fit issues like gaping waistlines, too tight  waists and curvy to straighter hips . The idea is “Jeans for All”  in these  three fits: slight curve, demi-curve and the bold curve. To find the right fit each shopper is measured to asses their waist to hip ratio, addressing  shape more than  size.

We applaud the idea of addressing the variety, however,  as you will see in the event images we had hoped the marketing or at least the demonstration would have gone “all the way” in showing more visible  variety in  body shapes  and frankly ethnicity (why not?).  We’re suckers for out-of- the box, so  ads that would shake up  some  body/ethnic  stereotypes  would be fab  ’cause  truly we ‘ve heard them all. The models you will see in the event  images are gorgeous, but the truth is you have to really zone in on each one to really see their curve differences .

On the bright side, most of the  wide variety of event attendees were able to find a pair that fits! The kings of denim  might be on to something big

True Religion vamps it up!

True Religion has had quite a busy year. The company has expanded and opened more freestanding stores. This spring will also launch a new style campaign for the brand.

They have enlisted Sports Illustrated Model, Tori Praver and men’s model Gabriel Aubry to be the face of the new campaign. Jeff Lubell, the company’s director, feels that the new campaign will help shift the brand’s image from hippy to upscale. “It is a lot more glam, more glitz, but not moving away too far from our roots,” said Lubell. “They both had that hippie, bohemian-chic look that I look for in choosing high-fashion models,” he said. “At the same time, they also gave me the glamorous side of the business.”

The new ads will also be featuring more of the non-denim aspects of the brand, such as vests, shoes and shirts, which were modeled by Gisele Bündchen in last year’s campaign but will highlight their accessibility to the consumer.

William Rast to open first stores in the US.

William Rast is expanding across the country. The brand will be opening two new free standing stores and one outlet store. The two free standing stores will be opening at Century City in Los Angles and Valley Fair Shopping Center in San Jose, California. The outlet store was opened in Cabazon, California. These three store openings are part of the brand’s goal to eventually open 45 stores throughout the nation in the coming years.

As the CEO explained,

“We are extremely pleased to announce the initial rollout of our planned retail expansion with these three new store openings,” said Chief Executive Officer, Colin Dyne. “These new retail locations underscore our commitment to showcasing and enhancing our brand. With a dynamic population that is connected with the William Rast brand, we see tremendous opportunities and a good strategic fit to further expand awareness of the brand.”

Zac Efron said goodbye to Vancouver as he departed from Vancouver airport yesterday. He was wearing his Diesel Thanaz 8SV jeans. I’m normally a huge fan of Zac’s style but this outfit I don’t like too much. I think it’s the bright red Nike sneakers, they throw off the entire outfit. I guess you need to be comfortable when flying though. It looks like Zac bulked up a lot for his movie, his jeans are fitting a lot tighter than before as well.

I am starting to do a blog post each week about a celebs outfit that I love. I adore Rihanna’s outfit here and always have! It’s gorgeous. The aim of these blog posts is to find Rihanna’s entire outfit so you can purchase it, if any of her clothes can’t be found then I will put something really similar in its place. She has on the Current/Elliott ankle zip legging jeans in bluebird which you can purchase here. The earrings are Fallon Hell’s Angel earrings which you can purchase by clicking here. It’s not exactly the same but Nanette Lepore do a very cute silk black top to go in place of Rihanna’s. Elizabeth and James Jean have a gorgeous pair of pointy black ankle boots as well. They are not the same as Rihanna’s but they are very beautiful. If anyone knows the exact brand of Rihanna’s boots please let me know. You can also try Dune’s Romeo shoe boot if you love the suede and leather look. Finish it off with a pair of aviator sunglasses and one of your favourite purses and you are good to go!
