Visualized: Apple's finest products destroyed in the name of art
Posted by PrettyBOY at 12/23/2010 09:39:00 AM
What happens when you burn an iPad? Take a sledgehammer to an iPhone 4? Leave a stack of iPod nanos on the train tracks? Shoot a iPhone 3GS with a 9MM handgun? Carve up a Magic Mouse into sushi-sized chunks? Artist (and former Apple graphics designer) Michael Tompert strove for the beautiful, horrific truth.
You'll find his answer to one of these questions above, and eleven others at our source link below.

MEDICOM TOY x Disney – Mickey Mouse Jack Skeleton Figure
Posted by PrettyBOY at 4/08/2010 03:03:00 PM
MEDICOM TOY is known for its unparalleled quality of its figures, and it is to no surprise that Disney maintains a close relationship with MEDICOM TOY when making toys and figures. The latest collaborative project is the Mickey Mouse figure in the MEDICOM TOY’s Vinyl Collectible Dolls series. In this production, Mickey has been fused with Jack Skeleton from The Nightmare Before Christmas claymation. Pleasantly surprising, the hybrid is executed perfectly and Mickey does look quite pale like an undead. Albeit a happy one. Other recreated details include the pinstripe suit worn by Jack Skeleton, but of course, custom fitted for the famous mouse and paired with his signature floppy shoes.

Posted by PrettyBOY at 2/04/2010 09:58:00 AM
The record-breaking auctioning of Giacometti sculpture at a staggering £65 million is a definitive statement about the continued quest of quality by art collectors. Originally cast in 1961 by the deceased Swiss sculptor Giacometti, the bronze sculpture L’Homme Qui Marche (Walking Man) was initially estimated to sell for $19 to $29 million. However, furious bidding at Sotheby’s led to an enormous bump in the price, which settled at £65 million, making the Walking Man the most expensive sculpture ever sold.

One of the largest woolly mammoths ever discovered to go for sale
Posted by PrettyBOY at 1/16/2010 01:16:00 PM
A very few collectors would pick up prehistoric jaws and claws as bargain from the auction houses and this is why we were skeptical earlier also, when we first discovered a fossilized penis bone from an extinct walrus and extinct Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton was no exception. However, we have come across one of the largest woolly mammoths ever discovered that took 10 years to completely excavate from the remote areas of Siberia. The long resplendent ivory tusks, whose base circumference measures 23 inches, are perfectly preserved. The Ice Age creature will be on public display later this month by GeoDécor and carries a price tag of $500,000.
