MEC Design Mercedes-Benz S-Class

MEC Design, Mercedes-Benz tuning specialist from Germany, has unveiled its new bodykit for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

MEC Design called the new kit as a 2face system where customer has the option to have the front bumper with driving lights and fog lights or with just mesh. Customer can also choose to have a sporty diffuser or a more elegant diffuser. The kit also features side skirts that come with or without LED lighting (5 per side) and spoiler on the rear trunk lid.

The MEC Design Mercedes-Benz S-Class is also fitted with MEC Design sport s exhaust system made from mandrel-bent stainless steel tubing, stainless steel resonator and muffler that produces “Earthquake” sound as described by the tuner but quieter version is also available. The quad oval chrome tips are also embossed with MEC Design logo.

Inside, the MEC Design S-Class features MEC Design sports multi-functional airbag steering wheel, velours footmats and Nubuck leather embroidery with MEC Design logo.

The car stands on 20-inch MEC Design 3-piece design wheels that come with high gloss compressed forged center piece and stainless steel outer rims. The front wheels come in 11×20 with 4.5-inch outer rims wrapped with 285/25 ZR 20 Hankook tires while the rear has 13×20 with 5-inch outer rims wrapped with 325/25 ZR 20 Hankook tires. The front axle is fitted with 10 mm spacers while the rear has 19mm spacers.

With Mercedes being my all-time automobile manufacture, I felt it only right to mention my all-time favorite after-market manufacture for Mercedes. If you know anything about Mercedes, and a little about tuning them, then you know MEC Designs go hand in hand with owning a modified Benz. Check the next few vids and see what I mean.

Leaked! Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Revealed - DOPE!

Scheduled to be revealed at the Frankfurt Autoshow next week, the first images of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG have leaked out onto the interwebs. Based on the classic 300SL “Gullwing”, the SLS packs an AMG standard front/mid-mounted version of MB’s visceral 6.3-liter V8, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission putting those 563 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque to work through the rear wheels. The SLS weighs in at 3,500 lbs and makes the sprint to 60 in 3.7 seconds. The new AMG is electronically limited at 197 mph, no worries the optional carbon ceramic stoppies should be more than sufficient to bring your $258k Merc to a standstill. The SLS is absolutely gorgeous with its design cues paying homage to the iconic 300SL but with a modern MB twist. The simple, yet elegant rear end paired with the defined snout, elongated hood, gorgeous headlamps and exclusive ten-spoke forged AMG wheels make the SLS a true modern day classic Mercedes-Benz. Available color choices will be Alubeam Silver, Syvanite Grey, Alanite Grey and red. Inside you will find all the goodies you can expect from Mercedes-Benz including a full leather interior and Alcantara headliner. Production is expected to be underway by late 2010 with sales beginning in 2011. More details will be revealed next week when the Frankfurt Autoshow offically kicks off. Source

Mercedes shows off Splitview display, other dashboard perks in the 2010 S-Class

One word......DOPE!
Sure, the cold metal exterior looks like a regular old car, but the 2010 S-Class from Mercedes-Benz has a fuzzy technological heart, including an abundance of readout displays and a Splitview screen. Quite like it sounds, the Splitview display offers up one view to the driver (like a map), while the passenger sees a completely different image (like a movie, or a picture of somebody looking at a map), and after hearing all about it for the past while, Mercedes is actually giving us a glimpse of it in an overly-dramatic promo video for the latest S-Class to clutter up the roads. Check it out after the break.
