I had a chance to finally sit down and rap with a good friend of mine Jermaine Jenkins, owner and founder of JWORK Limited. A fashion designer who is flooding the mid-west with his unique designs, bold statements, and in your face advertising. Jermaine and I share a similar passion in fashion, so it was only suiting that I invite him to a sit and spit with ya boy, and see what the self-made designer was up to.
PB - So, how did it all start?
J.J - Jermaine Jenkins was in Philly born Nov 17,1980 better know by his design Ego (JWORK) and raised in Columbus, Ohio! In Columbus he learned the style called Midwest Swag not to country and not to flashy, he took this style and went to Brookhaven High School where he started to get noticed here and there for his fashion sense. When Jermaine Graduated he joined the Military, served in Iraq came home with the exclusive eye for fashion, he and good friend Andre Wilson formed Jwork and then added longtime counter part Darrell Hunter and they made " JWORK LIMITED" 100% whole!!
PB - What made you get in fashion?
J.J - I believe I got into fashion because I really couldn't afford the hot stuff when I was growing up!!! Everyone was rocking the newest Air Jordan's and I was rocking the LA Gears Flak Men's ( do you remember those Joe Montana joints). So truth be told it all I wanted to do was rocked all the new stuff, didn't have to be what everyone else was rocking just new thread or fresh threads!!!
PB - Who inspires you?
J.J - Well to be 100% real my son inspires the hell out of me, the stuff he comes up with, and to be 100 he is the brain behind Jwork itself lol, also music is a very big key in my life, people like Pharrell, Kid Cudi, The Dream, Drake, Jayz, and Kanye West make you get inspired!!! And God above because without him I wouldn't have the vision that I have to make something exclusive and real!!

J.J - I want Jwork Limited to be one of the top Brands in the world, and be found in locations like Columbus, Cleveland, Tokyo, Miami, San Diego, Paris, New York, and Canada!! So we really want to be on the A-LIST when in comes to fashion lines!!!

J.J - Ohio has great designers everywhere, we are one of many Fresco, Phenology Clothing, Designs by Winborn, my Mentor, Mic Shundo, Lauren Luna, Elusion Clothing and my bro Akira Taski are putting things together to make the Midwest a power house for fashion!! So with that being said with shows like our Annual COTOURFASHIONSHOWCASE we are turning Columbus into a Fashion Captial!!!
