SEMA 2009: Seibon All Carbon Fiber Lotus Elise

While attending SEMA this year, Seibon, an aftermarket parts manufacturer that specializes in carbon fiber, also had an all carbon fiber Elise in their booth:

While it looks extremely pretty, the parts added about $10,000 in cost to the car, and somehow they managed to make it heavier than stock

Here’s a list of parts that were converted to carbon fiber:
  • Front clip
  • Rear clip
  • Front lip
  • Side skirts
  • Doors
  • Door panels
  • Engine lid
  • Front access panels
  • Hardtop
  • Seats
  • Center console
  • APR Formula GT3 mirrors

Other modifications include:
  • Volk TE37 wheels (17″ rears and 16″ fronts) on Hankook Ventus tires
  • KW coilovers
  • GT exhahust

We’re really disappointed that with everything done, weight was actually added to the car. It’s something I’ll follow up with Seibon about to find out exactly why that is. They also had a carbon fiber Smart Car in their booth that we’ll post about soon, so stay tuned. For now, enjoy a few more pictures:
